100+ Contractors Attend Spahn & Rose’s Builder Brew

This past April 25, the delicious smoky aroma of barbeque filled the Spahn & Rose Dubuque lumberyard during the Builder Brew contractor event.

More than 100 contractors and builders attended the networking event to view presentations about new products, munch on a vast selection of grilled food and, of course, sip a few beers.

“We want to create a partnership between us, our customers and our vendors,” says Gordon Staley, Sales Manager at the Dubuque Spahn & Rose location. “This event showed that we’re all on the same page and by being partners and having each other’s back, we can make each other better.”

Twenty Spahn & Rose building material supply vendors attended the event to show off their latest products and innovations. These building material supply vendors included Anderson Windows, Badger Corrugating, BlueLinx, Building Products Inc., Cameron Ashley Building Products, Klauer Manufacturing, Marvin Windows, Metal Sales, Wausau Supply Company, and many, many more.

The Builder Brew was scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., but contractors, builders and vendors remained in the store until about midnight, networking, sharing information about building materials, and sampling the vast spread of food, which included smoked vegetables, pulled pork, chicken wings, smoked meatballs and smoked red potatoes.

“The Builder Brew was a way for Spahn & Rose customers to directly communicate their business needs with the vendors,” Staley says. “It was a different experience that allowed contractors and builders to share information not only with vendors about product but with each other.”

Contractors and builders at the event also won several door prizes. Participating vendors sponsored the prizes, which included an Apple Watch from Building Products Inc., a keg refrigerator from Marvin Windows, and a television from Badger Corrugating. Other door prizes included travel packages to baseball and football games and hotel stays.

“The vendors and contractors and builders were able to have some good conversations,” Staley says. “We hope it was an event that everyone will remember. The contractors and builders were able to talk with vendors and find products and information that can help their business. We want to create a long-lasting relationship with our customers, and the Builder Brew really helped that.”

Spahn & Rose plans to host a similar event in the fall. Ask your sales rep for more details.
